Backstory/History:

The world is Chaolin Sahn's for the taking.

Chaolin Sahn was born in Tokyo, Japan to a proud but poor family. Chaolin was their only son, and he was a little... different from all of the rest. Even at such a young age, Chaolin showed a certain... curiousity. As his speech developed his parents noticed something odd. Chaolin seemed to speak, and think, only in rhymes. Nobody seemed to be able to connect to Chaolin, but they were drawn in. Even his parents were troubled, struggling to fix his speech to avoid ridicule and laughter from the other children and parents.

Nothing seemed to work however, as Chaolin seemed to get more distant, and more violent, as the years passed. There seemed to be a schism in Chaolin's mind, as a young Chaolin faced an inner battle with his "Tormented Soul". Some believed that Sahn was possessed by the devil, some believed it was a split personality disorder, but Chaolin Sahn turned from curious to curiousity. A freak show, bullied and outcast. This drove Chaolin's father to drink heavily, teetering on the brink of his own sanity as Chaolin's temper and morbid desire to inflict pain seemed to be spiraling out of control.

One day, drunk off his ass, Yoshihiro Sahn came home intent on teaching his son a lesson in violence, and scaring the devil out of Chaolin once and for all. This had disasterous consequences. Chaolin lashed back at his father and the confrontation seemed to awaken the pure evil lurking in Sahn's heart. At 8 years old, Chaolin Sahn took the stoker from the fireplace and struck his father with it repeatedly. Sahn, displaying an obsession with the flame, spread fire through the Sahn home. As the young Chaolin narrowly escapes the blaze, his parents are not able to make it out as they are burnt alive inside.

As the young boy speaks with police, he confesses but shows no remorse. They cannot understand the riddles coming out of the boys mouth. Chaolin Sahn, at 8 years old, is determined to be insane.

And as punishment for burning both of his parents alive, Chaolin Sahn is sentenced to ten years at the Tokyo Children's Mental Ward, a barbaric place where Chaolin Sahn learns a lifetime worth of lessons in pain and torture. Hidden away from society for a decade, words cannot describe the horrors that took place behind the cement doors of the Ward.

Trapped, isolated and alone, the Tormented Soul laid claim to the mind of Chaolin Sahn. The pain and the agony he endured twisted Sahn into an amalgam of devilish intents. His mind, ripped and frayed and renewed again. Even though Sahn was incredibly malnourished, his body seemed to be growing at an alarming rate.

By the time he was 17, Sahn was a beast of a man, towering over six tall. All Sahn knew was a world of chaos and disorder. Of fire and flames and hurting people just because you could and it made you feel good. It filled the void. But Sahn lusted for a taste of that feeling...that feeling of control that he only felt as he towered over his father with what was ultimately his murder weapon. Control, that's what the world was about to Chaolin Sahn. That's what motivated him, and inflicting pain was the avenue to that control.

As Chaolin Sahn approached his 18th birthday, his emancipation day, his release day...he starts experiencing very vivid, lifelike dreams where he has joined a ragtag wrestling organization named the CWF. The dream is reoccurring, over and over again, night after night in Chaolin's head. He joins the CWF as a new recruit, a grappler in the squared circle, and ends up the inaugural CWF World Heavyweight champion, crafting a group of fiends called the Cyndicate to do his bidding. The first apostle of Chaolin Sahn was Chris Xtreme, and then others would follow the path of the Firefly.

Those that fought Chaolin Sahn followed Chaolin Sahn.

There was something about embracing the Tormented Soul in battle that ignites a flame inside a competitor. To face the beast was like waging war with the devil himself, the demon inside all of us. Chaolin Sahn would use the Cyndicate to conquer the CWF, using the CWF as a platform to spread his message of violence to a world full of maniacs. It was all about control, world domination.

But it was all a dream, a nightmare that haunted Sahn like a great fate he was destined to live out. So when he finally got out of the Ward, at the age of eighteen, Sahn reentered a world that abandoned him. Lost with no direction, Sahn was drawn to the CWF like a moth to the flame. He joined the CWF, and it was eerie how everything that happened in his dreams happened to be unfolding right before his eyes, down to the exact names and details of the competitors he was facing off against in his horrid visions.

So as foretold, Chaolin Sahn climbed to the summit of CWF Wrestling, crafting the Cyndicate stable to do his bidding. He wins the World Championship with the Cyndicate at his side. Sahn conquers the CWF and is well on his way to consuming control of the world...until it all falls apart.

Insert Jarvis King, an upstart rookie who aligned himself with the Cyndicate. A selfish egomaniac out for his own personal gain, King's head got too big for the group. Jarvis challenges Sahn's supremacy within the group, tearing the whole thing apart from the inside to become the anti-hero of CWF. Jarvis and Chaolin wage absolute war, raining hellfire and brimstone down on each other before Jarvis is eventually victorious, forcing Chaolin Sahn back into the shadows.

The undying Tormented Soul resurfaces months later, manipulating his way into a role as the new Commissioner of the CWF. Again, Sahn's influence seems to creep over the roster of Championship Wrestling Federation. Those who fight Chaolin Sahn follow Chaolin Sahn. While Sahn's motives and penchant for violence never changed, neither did the end of the story. Jarvis King stepped up once again, challenging Chaolin Sahn and his team of fiends in the End Game structure.

As Jarvis King and Chaolin Sahn shook the foundation of the wrestling world again, everyone took notice. Everyone was watching. The two men survived madness and chaos to be the last two men standing. The match ended as Jarvis King laid a vicious beating on Sahn, eventually throwing Sahn from the top of the End Games cage. And so the menace of the Tormented Soul was purged again from the wrestling world.

Until the dreams, the visions came back. Until the shadows got bigger and the voices in Chaolin Sahn's head shrieked with rage. The job was never complete. The planning, the scheming, there was always a fatal flaw. The Achilles heel. And that flaw's name was Jarvis King.

Chaolin Sahn was determined to fulfill his destiny, leading the CWF and the legions of minions it has to offer to wage war against an unsuspecting world. The Cyndicate had failed him, and there was clearly fundamental issues with the way Chaolin had planned that plan. The dreams, the visions, it was all so very real to Chaolin Sahn. The CWF was his avenue to world domination and he was sure of that with every fiber of his being.

Then it happened. With a flash and a bang and a big announcement, J Rish had reopened the doors to CWF to all comers. Legends, champions and challengers coming from all corners of the world to prove themselves. It was Chaolin Sahn's chance for retribution. With Rish's desperate desire to validate himself, he couldn't resist bringing Chaolin Sahn back into the fold. Sure enough, the short-sighted J Rish books his only son, Jaiden, in a match against the Tormented Soul, to teach his son a lesson in humility and respect for the wrestling industry.

This momentary lapse just the opportunity Chaolin Sahn needed. Chaolin Sahn was not just another former World Champion, another legend looking for the hayday of fame and fortune. Money didn't mean a damn thing to Chaolin Sahn. Just pain, suffering, fire and flame.

Sahn reaches out to Jaiden, promising him the world, but only after Jaiden makes a sacrifice to sate the flame.

Torching the CWF Media headquarters accomplished the first task at hand.

Sahn promises Jaiden the world, but only after Jaiden is willing to bear the mark of the beast.

Sahn promises Jaiden the world, but only after Jaiden is ready to wage war with the Tormented Soul himself.

So Chaolin Sahn and Jaiden Rishel devise their plan, even accounting for the surprise arrival of Jarvis King as he attempts to be the foil of Sahn's schemes again. After witnessing his son get maimed and destroyed in the ring against the demon Sahn, Rish falls hook line and sinker into the trap that Sahn had set. Jarvis tries to fend off Sahn, but Jaiden attacks him from behind and the new unholy alliance lays waste to the Hall of Famer and former World champion, claiming the throne of CWF as the federation explodes into a new era.

Now Chaolin Sahn sits, the crown returned to its king. Jaiden Rishel is the CEO of CWF but he is merely a pawn in the game, a puppet, and Sahn is there to pull the strings. Sahn, being the Second Shadow of the Son, it is clear early that Jaiden is willing to use his alliance with Sahn as a way to throw his weight around in an attempt to intimidate the CWF roster into respecting him.

But control? That was squarely in the hands of the Firefly, Chaolin Sahn. CWF is hitting the ground running, looking high and low for new competitors to test their valor inside that squared circle.

But Chaolin Sahn thirsts for bloodshed. For violence, mayhem and destruction. For people to fight and maim and destroy each other in the name of the Maker. Sahn's idea of the Maker, a preverse ideology of God, or perhaps something more sinister. The Maker would bring salvation to a world unholy. Fire and flame, chaos and calamity.

The Maker would save us all.

But only if we make a sacrifice to feed the flames..

Only if we bear the Maker's Mark.

Only if we wage war with our demons, our Tormented Soul.

Because those who fight Chaolin Sahn follow Chaolin Sahn.

But perhaps, even that may not be enough. There needs to be more. More violence. More bloodshed. More competitors trying to do everything they can to end the challenger across the ring from him. Chaolin Sahn would spread his message, he would sing his gospel to an unrelenting world. But he needed more. More wrestlers, more time. A bigger platform to build a bigger army.

Perhaps the Cyndicate was not what Chaolin Sahn needed to fulfill his destiny.

Perhaps he needed something a little more... eternal.
